    Project Manager – Geotechnical

    Summary:

    Blackburn seeks a full-time Project Manager to manage geotechnical engineering projects. This person will work under the Director of Geotechnical Services and senior firm leadership. This candidate should have 7+ years of experience performing geotechnical services and management on geotechnical engineering projects. This position requires travel to project related sites, project management, cost negotiation, client and public relations, and internal staff management on a project basis.

  • Materials Testing Technician

    LOCATIONS: Fresno and Kern Counties, CA

    Blackburn Consulting is looking for experienced Field Construction Materials Testing Technicians for On-Call Caltrans contracts in Fresno and Kern Counties. Per Diem available. Prevailing wage rates apply. Premium pay rate available, dependent on experience. We need candidates who demonstrate a strong work-ethic with a professional attitude. The ideal candidate will have construction soils testing experience for a geotechnical engineering or materials testing company.

    Responsibilities Include:
    • Timely documentation of all testing activities and construction observations.
    • Daily coordination with Caltrans and Contractor representatives.
    • Strict adherence to Caltrans test methods.
    • Performance of duties in a safe manner.

     

    Position Requirements:
    • Physically able to regularly lift and /or move up to 75 lbs.

    Paid Geotechnical Internship – West Sacramento, CA

    Position Summary:

    Blackburn Consulting (Blackburn) is offering a Geotechnical Internship. This internship will focus on learning and performing geotechnical laboratory tests and provide exposure to the field and office work of Blackburn’s engineers and geologists. This internship will be supervised by the Geotechnical Laboratory Manager and Geotechnical Director. This candidate will be performing tests in accordance with ASTM and Caltrans test methods, entering data, and generating test result reports in a laboratory. This position may require some limited travel (<15%) to project sites or other testing laboratories.
