PG&E Service Centers

Blackburn Consulting helped Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) serve their customers by providing geotechnical and construction services for PG&E Service Centers throughout Northern and Central California. Blackburn performed subsurface investigations, laboratory testing, and engineering analysis to provide geotechnical recommendations for the new construction or remodeling of existing facilities. For several sites, Blackburn’s construction services included grading observation, materials testing (aggregate, HMA, and concrete), and special inspection.

PG&E constantly improves their site designs, even during construction, and requires a proactive and responsive project team. Blackburn works hard to help keep projects on schedule when unforeseen conditions arise. In one case, we provided quick engineering support when a contractor encountered wet subgrade, and in another we rapidly mobilized to conduct additional subsurface exploration during construction for added project features.
