Dave Morrell a senior project manager with Blackburn Consulting and our technical expert.  He has over 30 years of geotechnical engineering experience and on infrastructure, bridge, tank, water/wastewater, residential, commercial, school, and hospital projects in northern and central California. Dave has provided guidance for multiple award-winning projects with geotechnical challenges. He has collaborated with geotechnical engineers at Caltrans to update their liquefaction and lateral spreading guidance.

Dave has provided design recommendations and construction support on over 100 transportation projects in Northern California. His experience includes: highway widenings, intersection and ramp improvements, new bridges, bridge widenings, trails, parks, earth retaining structures, sound walls, pavement rehabilitation, and infiltration basins.

Dave’s expertise includes: shallow and deep foundation design, embankment/foundation settlement, retaining walls, slope stability and landslide repair, pavement design, and expansive soil mitigation.
