ROBERT L. SANDQUIST, PE

Senior Engineer

Rob joined Blackburn Consulting in 2017 to do more than crunch numbers. A consulting engineer since 2006, Rob established a reputation for excellence by being thoughtful, responsive, and professional. Licensed in California and formerly a Charter Professional Engineer (geotechnical) in New Zealand, Rob has provided geotechnical and civil engineering services for a range of infrastructure and building projects in California, Australia, and New Zealand. One of his skills is attracting and delivering complex or unusual projects (technical and non-technical). Rob actively participates in local chapters of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Public Works Association (APWA), and California Geotechnical Engineering Association (CalGeo). No matter which hat Rob is wearing, his goal is excellence.

Rob’s geotechnical experience includes: settlement, shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, support of excavations, expansive soils, collapsible soils, liquefaction, ground improvement, slope stability studies and remedial slope design. He plans and supervises geotechnical investigations using a variety of techniques to support engineering analyses and reports for design and construction. He also manages and supervises Blackburn’s construction services team in Fresno. Rob’s civil (including non-building structural design) experience includes: transportation, wastewater, and site design projects.

Rob graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He has completed the Fundamentals of Professional Practice Course.
